An incompatible diet and life style habits, negative thought patterns, low self-esteem, stress and anxiety can contribute to developing physical health symptoms or disease. My aim is to help you to realign with optimal health and live a fulfilled and happier life as I have with mine.
When I was 19 years old, I started getting chronic abdominal pain, persistent digestive symptoms and anxiety, and no matter how much I slept, I felt exhausted and lifeless. Everything was an effort and I constantly had to push myself, I was unable to hold down a job and my symptoms prevented me from living a healthy and fulfilled life.
I was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease and over the next twelve years I was hospitalised eight times because I was so weak, in excruciating pain, and unable to hold food down. Eventually I agreed to have a section of my digestive tract removed in the hope that I would make a full recovery. Unfortunately, eight months later I was back in hospital – nothing had changed.
Up to this point I had gone down the conventional route; I had consistently been taking medication and had had various invasive procedures. I was very scared because I didn’t think I was ever going to get better and my dreams of being normal and living a healthy life were fading in to the distance; I was existing and not living.
Somehow from this place of utter desperation I found the energy and insight to go on a mission, and I was determined to find a successful and more natural solution to my health. I tried a variety of alternative therapies but sadly none of them worked completely.
For the first time in my life I felt in control because I was taking action! For many years I studied intensely and through trial and error with diet, lifestyle and coaching, I eventually regained my health and so much more!!! From completely transforming my life my mission is to help other people transform theirs too.
I studied Macrobiotic Dietary Therapy for 5 years followed by 4 years at the prestigious Institute of Optimum Nutrition, qualifying with Nordic Laboratory as a DNA life practitioner and trained as a yoga teacher with Yia Yoga International School of Yoga and Personal Transformation.
This has given me a deep understanding of how diet, life style, self- love practices and positive or negative thoughts affect our health and wellbeing.
I am a member of the British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy (BANT); which is a professional body for Registered Nutritional Therapists. From Continuing Professional Development (CPD) I always update my knowledge with the latest scientific research and training; through monitored professional programmes, lectures and conferences.
